Hi Emily,
I hope you're doing well! I wanted to let you know that I've started a Spanish language course recently, and I think you'd be interested to hear about what we're doing in class, who our teacher is, and how I plan to use Spanish in the future.
Firstly, we have classes twice a week at a local learning center, and each session lasts about an hour and a half. The classes are really interactive and enjoyable. We began with the basics, like greetings, numbers, and common phrases. Our teacher focuses on getting us to speak from the very beginning, which really helps build our confidence.
We usually kick off each class with a bit of conversation, just to get everyone talking. Then, we learn new words and phrases. Last week, for example, we learned how to introduce ourselves and describe our families. It's fun to try and explain my family tree in Spanish! We also play games and do role-plays to practice pronunciation, making learning fun. Sometimes, we listen to Spanish songs or watch short videos to help with our listening skills.
Our teacher, Mr. García, is amazing. He’s originally from Madrid and has over ten years of experience teaching Spanish. I really admire how patient he is and how comfortable he makes us feel, even when we mess up. Before he became a teacher, he traveled a lot through Latin America, so he shares all sorts of interesting stories and cultural insights with us. Plus, he speaks English fluently, which is a big help if we don’t understand something.
Mr. García likes using visual aids and multimedia tools to help us learn better. He thinks that learning a language should be a full experience. Sometimes he even brings traditional Spanish snacks like tortillas or churros to class, which is such a treat! It's not just about learning the words, but also experiencing the culture.
As for the future, I have lots of ideas for using Spanish. Firstly, speaking Spanish can open up so many job opportunities. I'm thinking about working in international business or tourism, and being fluent in Spanish could be a real advantage. It's one of the most spoken languages globally, and many international companies look for bilingual staff. Being able to speak Spanish might give me an edge when looking for a job.
I'm also very interested in Spanish and Latin American culture, as well as their literature and history. The thought of reading famous books by authors like Gabriel García Márquez or Miguel de Cervantes in their original language is very exciting to me. I love literature, and reading works in the original language can give a deeper understanding.
Lastly, I want to travel a lot in the future. I dream of visiting Spain, especially places like Barcelona and Seville. I also want to explore Latin America, visiting countries such as Mexico, Argentina, and Peru. Knowing Spanish will make traveling more enjoyable because I'll be able to talk with locals and really get into the culture.
So that's what's been going on with me lately. I'm really enjoying the Spanish course and am excited about how I can use what I'm learning in the future. How about you? Have you started any new hobbies or picked up any new interests recently? I'd love to hear all about what you're up to.
Looking forward to your reply!
Best wishes, [Your Name]
