Warsaw, 11th June 2024 Hi Brian!

I hope this letter finds you well. I wanted to tell you about my latest adventure, because you won't believe what I’ve done! For the first time in my life, I went camping by the river — and although at first I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea, now I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience.

At the beginning, I had many doubts. As you know, I’m not really an “outdoorsy” person — I prefer the comfort of my home, a warm shower, and a soft bed. So, when my friends suggested a camping trip by the Bug River, I hesitated. But they gave me quite a few convincing arguments. First of all, they assured me that we’d all go together, so I wouldn’t be alone if there were any problems. Secondly, they promised we could try some cool activities, like kayaking, fishing, and having campfires by the riverbank. Also, everyone said it would be a chance to take a break from the city and do a “digital detox.” To be honest, the thought of escaping from all the noise and screens sounded really refreshing. In the end, I agreed — mostly because I didn’t want to miss a unique opportunity and some fun with friends.

We set off one early Friday morning. The campsite was nestled on a grassy riverbank, surrounded by beautiful forests not too far from a small village. When we arrived and I saw the sparkling river and the tall trees reflecting in the water, I felt excited but also a bit nervous. Setting up the tent seemed complicated at first, and everything felt so different from what I’m used to. However, the air was incredibly fresh, and the only sounds were birds and the soft rushing of water. The natural beauty really impressed me and slowly made all my worries disappear.

Our days were packed with activities. We went kayaking down the river, which turned out to be fantastic fun. I was afraid I’d tip the kayak over, but after a few minutes, it felt easy and was simply amazing to float quietly with the current, watching beavers and ducks from up close. In the afternoons, we often went swimming or sunbathed on the shore, and sometimes we played volleyball on a little sand court nearby. In the evenings, we gathered around the campfire, grilled sausages, sang songs, and told silly stories until late at night. We even tried fishing, though I have to admit I was better at scaring the fish than catching them…

I have to say, I quickly realized that a camping trip offers something I can't find anywhere else. I loved the peaceful atmosphere, being surrounded by nature, and spending real quality time with my friends without constant distractions. The simple things, like cooking together over the fire or watching the stars, felt special and unforgettable. I’ve learned that leaving my comfort zone can lead to surprisingly great experiences. I think I'll definitely go camping again — maybe even with you, someday, if you ever come to Poland!

Let me know what you think and if you’d be up for an outdoor adventure together! Can't wait to hear from you.

Take care, [Your Name]
